Why it collects nothing
The app has no account, no email sign-up and no analytics. Everything you log stays on your phone. We can't profit from your data because we never have it. Our App Store privacy declaration is "Data Not Collected", and the privacy policy explains the details.
How we write about health
- Every health fact links to its source: the CDC, the NHS, smokefree.gov (US National Cancer Institute), Truth Initiative, or a peer-reviewed study.
- We read the source page before quoting it, and each page shows the date we checked.
- We don't make medical claims and we don't give dosing advice. For that, talk to a doctor, a pharmacist or a free quit service.
- Pages are drafted with the help of AI tools, then every claim is checked against its source before it goes live.
- Quotes from people who vape are shown word for word, with where and when they were posted.
How we checked other apps
In November 2026 we read the App Store listings of popular quit apps (vaping and smoking), plus the quit-vaping sites that rank on Google. From the listings we took each app's in-app purchase prices and its privacy label. 7 of the 13 listings we parsed declare data used to track you, and none carry "Data Not Collected". Among the 7 apps that sell a weekly plan, the middle price was $6.49 a week. Prices change, and Apple's page shows only the first 10 purchases per app, so treat these as a snapshot.
We also analyzed 2,324 App Store reviews and coded 143 Reddit posts and comments about quitting vaping, to learn what people find helpful and what they hate. That research decided what the app does.
Is Thin Air different from other quit apps?
Mostly, no. It counts and lowers a limit, like several others. Here is what's different: you can log from your Lock Screen without opening it, it looks like the weather, it collects nothing, it has one price with no tiers, and going over your limit never resets anything.
